Use the BrowserAct app in Zapier to run a Bot and pass its structured results to the next step in a Zap.
Naming note: BrowserAct calls the automation a Bot. The current Zapier action uses Workflow and Run a Workflow; these labels refer to the corresponding BrowserAct Bot. A Workflow ID shown in a legacy or third-party interface is the Bot ID.
Before You Start
Prepare the following:
A BrowserAct Bot that runs successfully
The Bot's required input values
A BrowserAct API key
A Zapier account
To create an API key, open Integrations > Manage API Keys > Create New API Key. Enter a name, choose the confirmation mode, select Confirm, and copy the key.
Add BrowserAct to a Zap
In Zapier, create a Zap or open an existing one.
Configure the app and event that will trigger the Zap.
Add an Action step.
Search for and select
BrowserAct.Select
Run a Workflowas the Action event.
BrowserAct currently provides an Action and does not start a Zap as a trigger.
Connect Your BrowserAct Account
Select
Sign inor add a new BrowserAct connection.Paste your BrowserAct API key when prompted.
Save and select the connection.
API keys grant access to your BrowserAct account. Do not share them publicly.
Select a Bot
Under
Search Workflows From, choose your own published Workflows or the Template Marketplace.Select the Workflow that corresponds to the BrowserAct Bot.
Complete the input fields shown for that Bot.
Zapier normally lets you select the Bot from a list instead of entering its ID manually. If a Workflow ID is displayed or requested, use the corresponding Bot ID.
Map Bot Inputs
For each required Bot input, enter a fixed value or map data from the Zap trigger or an earlier step.
For example, a Bot input named company_url can receive a URL from a form submission, spreadsheet row, CRM record, or email.
Test the Action
Test the BrowserAct Action with sample input values.
Confirm that BrowserAct creates a Task.
Review the returned fields in Zapier.
If the Task fails, open it in BrowserAct to review the status and result.
After the test succeeds, add the next Zap step and publish the Zap.
Use Bot Results
Map the structured fields returned by BrowserAct to another Zapier app, such as:
Google Sheets
Gmail
Airtable
Google Drive
A CRM
Slack or another notification app
Google Sheets is used as a downstream Zapier app; it is not configured as a direct BrowserAct integration.
Common Scenarios
Run a Bot on a Schedule
Use Schedule by Zapier to run a BrowserAct Bot daily or at another supported interval.
Schedule by Zapier > BrowserAct > Google Sheets
Enrich Form or CRM Data
Pass a submitted URL or company record to BrowserAct, then write the returned fields to a CRM or spreadsheet.
Form or CRM Trigger > BrowserAct > CRM or Spreadsheet
Monitor Data and Send an Alert
Run BrowserAct after a scheduled or application event, then send the result by email or team notification.
Trigger > BrowserAct > Gmail or Notification App
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to check |
BrowserAct is not available | Search for the current BrowserAct app when adding an Action. |
Authentication failed | Copy the current API key again, remove extra spaces, or reconnect the BrowserAct account. |
Bot is not listed | Confirm that the Bot runs in BrowserAct and check the selected Workflow source. |
An input is missing | Confirm that every required input has a fixed value or mapped field. |
The Action returns no data | Run the Bot with the same inputs in BrowserAct and review the resulting Task. |
For the current Action and available app pairings, see the BrowserAct integration on Zapier.
